Technical Project Manager – Manufacturing Initiatives (COO’s team)

At Kimbal

Role Overview

This is a high-ownership Individual Contributor (IC) role within the COO’s Office, responsible for end-to-end execution support and PMO ownership across multiple parallel, interdependent initiatives.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams – engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and senior leadership – while partnering with external vendors and execution partners across India and international locations.

The role demands strong on-ground execution, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to move fast without compromising rigor.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Programs & New Initiatives

– Lead cross-functional programs for new manufacturing setup, capacity expansion, and product industrialization

– Drive AI, automation, data, and Industry 4.0 initiatives across manufacturing and operations

– Translate leadership priorities into structured roadmaps, milestones, and governance mechanisms

Program Planning & Governance

– Own integrated project planning across multiple workstreams

– Define and track milestones, dependencies, and critical paths

– Establish and run tight execution cadence including dashboards, reviews, and escalation forums

Execution & Delivery

– Drive day-to-day execution to keep programs on track against timelines, scope, and budgets

– Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, and engineering teams to unblock issues

– Support readiness across people, process, and infrastructure for go-live

– Ensure leadership decisions translate into rapid on-ground action

Vendor & Partner Collaboration

– Coordinate with vendors and partners across India and international locations

– Support cross-border execution and on-site engagement when required to accelerate decisions and resolve bottlenecks

– Enable structured collaboration between internal teams and external partners to meet delivery commitments

Risk & Dependency Management

– Proactively identify execution risks and bottlenecks

– Build and drive mitigation plans

– Escalate decisively when timelines or outcomes are at risk

Stakeholder & Leadership Alignment

– Act as an execution arm of the COO’s Office for priority initiatives

– Present clear, fact-based updates on progress, risks, and trade-offs

– Maintain tight alignment across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and business teams

Working Model

– Primary base: Manufacturing / Operations site

– Travel: High flexibility required, including short-notice and extended travel (India and overseas)

– Role nature: Deeply execution-oriented and hands-on

Profile We’re Looking For

– 5-10 years of experience in program management, operations, manufacturing, or industrial transformation roles

– Strong experience running complex, operations-heavy programs

– Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines

– Comfort working with factories, vendors, and on-site teams

– Exposure to automation, digital manufacturing, AI, or Industry 4.0 initiatives preferred

– Strong structuring, problem-solving, and business-case skills

– High ownership mindset; thrives in IC roles with real accountability

– Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive progress without perfect information

– Willingness to travel and be on the ground when execution demands it

Why This Role

– Direct partnership with COO and senior leadership

– Ownership of mission-critical manufacturing and transformation programs

– Opportunity to build next-generation manufacturing and operational capabilities

– Real execution responsibility – not just coordination
